Artist Statement
Old found objects speak to me, and as I listen I feel they each tell me they have another purpose. This is what has influenced my current body of work, a collection of mixed media figurative sculpture.
I rely on the influence of surrealism as a foundation for my work. My process is to let each object inform the figure, which allows each piece to take on its own personality. I use a variety of materials in each sculpture and although each piece is different, the result is consistent, to give each piece a new life.
By giving new life to these objects, I invite the viewer to see the ability to repurpose and recycle all found objects, and the beauty within them.
